Archer and Sons, Liverpool | The Pool | English | Half Plate

ENGLISH FIELD CAMERA. 1890s. Established in 1848, by 1890 they are known to have been at 43-49 Lord Street, Liverpool. This camera's only identification is a brass shield on the side of the body saying 'The Pool'. I know that Archers made a camera called 'The Liver', in and around 1891, and since they are based in Liverpool it seemed reasonable to assume they had made this one called 'The Pool', so it's attributed to them until further information becomes available.
