Sanderson (Holmes Brothers) | A-Pattern | English | Half Plate

ENGLISH FIELD CAMERA. c1896. An early Sanderson, made between 1895 and 1900, probably at Holmes Brothers, Barnsbury Road, Islington, London, who made Sanderson cameras as franchised makers under licence from the sole agents, Houghtons, until 1904 and then continued to do so as a branch of Houghtons when they were taken over. Chamfered bellows on this one may indicate a date of about 1896 as the very earliest ones had square corners.
