Stanley, William Ford | Nameless | Tailboard | Half Plate

TAILBOARD FIELD CAMERA. 1875-1885. This camera was a must buy when I saw it for sale. The poor thing had an excellent but totally inappropriate Ross Xpress lens fitted, and I had upstairs a totally appropriate Stanley engraved lens of the correct period. They were made for each other. Literally. So I reunited them: see pictures. Because it gives off mixed signals (like red, square cornered bellows and endless screw rear focusing, original features but too early to be associated with its comb jointed corners that really should be dovetailed), I have dated it at 1875 to 1885.
