Unnamed | Replica Sliding Box Camera (Evans) | Other | 2 and 1/2 X 3 and 1/2

SLIDING BOX WET PLATE. The sliding box camera was basically two boxes, sliding inside each other for focusing the image. Too rare and expensive for me, these fetch silly prices, if you can find one in the first place. So, I made this replica myself for illustration. It resembles the real thing enough to give the general idea of how these very early cameras (c.1840-1860), looked and operated, but it is not intended to fool anyone.
