Sharp & Hitchmough | Gresham | English | Quarter Plate
FIELD CAMERA. 1891. A double extension camera, exceptionally well crafted with dovetail body and a reversing back. This fits Channing and Dunn's description of Sharp & Hitchmough's 'Gresham' camera, though it is not marked as such, carrying only the makers' plate for this firm at 101 & 103 Dale Street, Liverpool. Not in great condition, but the usual dilemma arose: if I didn't collect this one, I'd never see another one. Having bought it, I shall probably see a better one tomorrow. Collectors are sad, driven people...
