Hinton & Co | Mahogany Field Camera | English | Half Plate

MAHOGANY FIELD CAMERA. 1890s. Channing and Dunn say of Hinton and Co. that 'a few mahogany and brass field cameras are known with their name plaque, although we have not found any of these that are dated.' They were advertising throughout the 1890s and up to 1917, although after 1908 they seem to have been concentrating less on camera making than on general photographic supplies. The design of this camera is identical with the Bulmer and the Robinson cameras; I'm not sure how that comes about.
